Sunday’s Message: The Death of Jesus: Mark 15: 21- 41

The Cross is the focal point of the Gospel For Christians, the cross is at the very heart of the Gospel.

We believe that here, God dealt once and for all with our rebellion and opened the way for our salvation.
It was here that Jesus carried the weight of God’s judgment on sin.

His obedience to the Father’s will reversed and undid the pattern of human disobedience that had begun with Adam (see Romans 5:12 21).

At the cross, God identified with us in our guilt and took upon Himself the death and judgment we deserved. Because of this, the cross has become the centre of the Church’s message. It’s the Good News that brings forgiveness and new life.

It is the place where God’s power is revealed. It is the place where the power of sin was undone
What looked like foolishness was in fact the wisdom of God.
What looked like pain and destruction was in fact the love of God.
