  2. When A Little Goes a Long Way – Mark 6: 30-43

On Sunday Pastor Ray preached from Mark 6: 30-43.

Have you ever wondered what God could do through you if He released all His creative power into a particular moment? What would you want Him to do? How would you respond if God moved? What role would he want you to play in that?

Unfortunately, we see the opposite behaviour from the disciples in the story that Mark captured for us in Mark 6:30-44. In the story where Jesus feeds 5000+ people from five loaves and two fish, we see that ‘The disciples complain about what they lack; but Jesus focuses on what they possess.’ Ouch.

But have you thought about the fact that someone did step up and give what was in his hands. John 6 tells us that it was a little boy who came forward and offered up his meal to Jesus. A little boy who did not see any problem with the evident inadequacy of what he was giving to Jesus.

Perhaps that is the key. Its simple trust that “ the presence of Jesus changes the equation of what is possible”.

I wonder what God is challenging you to do and what you believe is standing in the way of seeing the reality of that dream? I wonder what it would take to have child-like faith again?

May Jesus lead us all in learning to see Him for who He really is.
May we see what is really possible if we give Him what is in our hands. Because that is all we have.
May we have the faith to follow and trust Jesus like this this year.

This is my prayer for you and for me.

God bless
Ray
