  2. Wrong Question Right Answer – Mark 10

On Sunday our guest speaker Peter Francis preached from: Mark 10:17- 31

Sometimes we can miss the point of the gospel by asking the wrong questions.

Sometimes, our questions are simply designed to make us feel good about ourselves. This was the case of the “rich young man” described in our passage in Mark’s gospel chapter 10. But the problem was he asked the wrong question because he had the wrong idea about God’s salvation and the wrong idea about himself.

In a challenging exchange, Jesus gave him the right answers about the true nature and means of salvation, reminding him that while it cannot be earned, it will cost us everything. The question we must each ask ourselves is Have we given the right response to Jesus’ call to come and follow me?
